Club4good project

As some of you may know this project launched last year and was an initiative from the charity to find new ways of raising money to help fight hate crime in Surrey. The club4good project bought a fresh approach to fundraising, the concept was simple find some great volunteers (Juicy, Barry (saucyevents), London Dave and the gang) and venues around Surrey to host some great LGBT nights with proceeds donated back to Gay Surrey for our ongoing campaign to raise awareness to hate crime in Surrey, in 2009 we have already seen over £400 donated back to the charity which is amazing.

Mick Day, Head of Surrey Police Diversity Directorate comments "Surrey Police supports initiatives which prevent Homophobic and other hate crime. I am grateful for the support of Gay Surrey and the advice the Charity provides to Surrey Police in tackling Homophobic Crime. Such crime impacts hugely on the quality of life of the victims and it is important that victims have the confidence and trust in Surrey Police to report crimes to us.

The work of club4good and the donations from host premises to Gay Surrey to assist them in addressing homophobia is an excellent example of the Charities work. Surrey Police will continue to work with Gay Surrey and other charities to eradicate all forms of Hate Crime"
