UniS - in gay surrey
|
Supported by |
|
The University of Surrey LGBT society exists to bring Surrey students together who identify themselves as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (or even if you're a bit unsure)!
|
|
The society aims to:
- Support LGBT students at the University.
- Promote and represent the views and interests of LGBT students.
- Be fun and inclusive!
What we do:
- Organise social events.
- Organise debates and discussions on LGBT topics.
- Provide a voice against homophobia and other discrimination.
Who can join?
- Anyone – you don't have to identify yourself as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.
- Labels are not for everyone and we do not expect people to categorise themselves!
Why should I join?
- To meet other people who define themselves as LGBT.
- To explore the social side of the student LGBT community.
- To get your views heard.
How is the society run and organised?
- By students, for students!
- Each year we hold an AGM to elect a new committee.
- All Surrey students have full-voting rights and the chance to stand for election.
What is “Tease”?
- The monthly LGBT club night held at the Students' Union on the first Saturday of every month, launched in October 2005.
- Tease is organised by the society in collaboration with the Students' Union.
- You don't have to be gay or a student to come as the night is both straight-friendly and open to the public too!
